Sprung from Tenmat’s leading product development in high performance ceramic brake discs, Grafitguard is an innovative coating for graphite and carbon/carbon materials that effectively stops oxidation and abrasive wear in industrial high temperature applications. It also acts as a diffusion barrier.
Grafitguard is applied in Tenmat’s proprietary process and suits a wide range of graphite qualities and grades. The coating can be applied to complex shapes in thickness’s from 10 – 1,000 μm depending on the application and the purpose of the coating. 10μm is sufficient for oxidation prevention, whilst 1,000 μm would be suitable for applications involving aggressive abrasive wear.
The available thickness of Grafitguard could vary depending on specific ISO-pressed and extruded grades of graphite. Please contact Tenmat’s technical sales engineers for more information.
