committed to fire safety in house building
Our NHBC Presence
Tenmat was proud to exhibit at NHBC’s BEYOND 26’ Live and BEYOND ’26 Live Northern Ireland, two of the most influential events in the UK and regional house‑building calendar. These conferences bring together industry leaders, house builders, specifiers, and technical experts to explore the future of new home delivery, innovation, construction quality, and regulatory change.
Participating in both events reflects our long‑standing commitment to working closely with NHBC and supporting the sector with fully tested, certified passive fire protection solutions designed specifically for modern residential construction.
ADVANCING PASSIVE FIRE PROTECTION
Showcasing Fully Tested Passive Fire Protection Solutions
At each event, our teams engaged with house builders, contractors, and NHBC technical specialists to discuss the critical role that tested fire‑stopping solutions play in improving build quality and occupant safety. Tenmat has always prioritised rigorous product testing and third‑party certification to ensure every solution performs reliably in real‑world conditions – something house builders increasingly depend on as regulations and expectations evolve.
Indeed, Tenmat worked closely with NHBC as an active member of an expert‑led Working Task Group to ensure fully fire‑tested solutions are available for modern homebuilding. Throughout 2024, Tenmat collaborated with joist manufacturers to conduct multiple full‑scale, loaded fire tests on timber floor systems penetrated by ceiling extract fans and air valves, protected using our Ceiling Fan Fire Stops and Fire Rated Air Valves. With these systems now successfully tested, Tenmat is positioned to supply approved solutions to distributors across the UK in line with growing demand.

Tenmat at BEYOND ’26 Live Northern Ireland
At the Northern Ireland event, our team – including Mark Davies (Sales Director), Grant Barlow (Specification Sales Manager), and Adam Taylor (National Specification & Supply Chain Manager) -spent the day discussing how passive fire protection can support higher‑quality and more resilient homes across the region. The show featured technical demonstrations, sessions on future regulatory change, and in‑depth conversations around improving the housing supply.
This regional conference is particularly important because it addresses the unique requirements of Northern Ireland’s new‑build market, which continues to see growth and increased demand for high‑performance fire‑stopping solutions.
“The Northern Ireland BEYOND event highlighted a rapidly growing market, with a strong emphasis on low‑rise timber frame construction — a core building method across the region. It’s clear that developers here are committed to raising construction standards, and this aligns closely with our mission at Tenmat.
“Low‑rise construction is often overlooked when it comes to passive fire protection, so we consistently work to spotlight our market‑leading solutions for this sector and promote a culture of safer building. Fire risk does not discriminate by height or building type; our approach must always reflect the highest possible standards. Ultimately, buildings exist to be used by people, and ensuring their safety is paramount. Our passive fire protection systems continue to play a crucial role in helping developers future‑proof their projects.”
