Tenmat Group Site Officially Opened by Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal

AN UNFORGETTABLE ROYAL OCCASION

Official Full Site Opening

Tenmat Group was honoured to welcome Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal to its Irlam Manufacturing & Innovation Centre on the 22nd of April 2026.

This special day marked the official opening of the completed site following the addition of our F-Lab and Training Academy in 2024.

The Princess Royal was joined by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater Manchester, Mrs. Diane Hawkins, High Sheriff of Greater Manchester, Mr. Mark Llewellin, and Ceremonial Mayor of the City of Salford, Councillor Heather Fletcher.

Following a guided tour of our D-Lab and factory, The Princess Royal unveiled a commemorative plaque marking the occasion.

SHARING OUR MISSION

Discussing Fire Protection

During the tour, we were delighted to be able to discuss with The Princess Royal the importance of passive fire protection and why improving standards worldwide is central to our mission.

As well as our cavity barrier products, we presented items from our global product range, such as BrandGuard Vents (pictured).

In our on-site D-Lab, Dr. Daniel Reid (also pictured) demonstrated the expansion of Tenmat intumescent with a live furnace test.

The completion of the Tenmat Group Manufacturing & Innovation Centre is excellent news for Greater Manchester. The impressive facility and the crucial components manufactured therein contribute not just to the local region but also have a national impact with regards building fire safety. Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal and I were delighted to be a part of this opening ceremony and visit and hope the company continues to prosper.

MEETING OUR PEOPLE

The Team behind Tenmat

During The Princess Royal’s visit, many members of staff were fortunate enough to meet and speak with her personally. Colleagues from across the Tenmat Group had the opportunity to explain their individual roles and responsibilities, sharing insight into their day‑to‑day work and how it contributes to the wider success of the Group. The Princess Royal showed genuine interest in these conversations, making the visit a memorable and proud occasion for all involved.

This was a very special occasion for all of us at Tenmat Group. The completion of the site is the culmination of years of careful planning and company-wide effort, and Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal’s visit and enthusiasm for the important work we do was the highest level of recognition we could hope for.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to The Princess Royal and regional representatives His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater Manchester, the High Sheriff of Greater Manchester, and the Ceremonial Mayor of Salford for participating in what was undoubtedly a historic day for Tenmat Group and one that marks the beginning of a new chapter of growth.
