Can loft insulation be laid over a loft cover?

Yes. Tenmat loft covers are designed to be fully covered, so loose-fill, blown or rolled insulation can be laid straight over them. That matters because loft insulation should be at least 300mm deep, enough to bury a downlight completely. Without a cover, installers have to leave a gap around each light, which lets warm air escape into the roof space.
