Tenmat take on Tough Mudder!

 In Uncategorized

Saturday 15th July saw an intrepid team of Tenmat employees take on the famous tough mudder 10km challenge, in Heaton Park Manchester.

Tough mudder describes itself as the world’s best obstacle course and mud run, and it was hard to deny this when confronted with some of the obstacles on show. With challenges such as the 40ft high Mudderhorn climbing net, or the terrifying underwater cage crawl, this was not a feat for the faint hearted!

The conditions were less than ideal, though perhaps predictable for Manchester, yet this did not stop the 6-person strong team from completing the course in around 3 hours, far ahead of others who started with them. The plucky mudders threw themselves into challenges that saw them being tear-gassed, buffeted with water and electrocuted.

A few breaks whilst lightning storms passed overhead allowed Tenmat’s tough mudders a bit of a breather from the action, and a chance to compose themselves for what lay ahead.

The determination, teamwork and camaraderie on show was admirable and, when coupled with the fact that the team’s efforts raised £550 for the Children’s heart unit fund – served to prove that all the rolling around in the mud was for a good cause!

Whether or not the team are tough enough to take on next year’s challenge remains to be seen, but all in all, it was a thoroughly enjoyable occasion and one that will live long in the Tenmat memory!
