TENMAT FEROFORM F21 and RAILKO JL31 materials are now specified to the new European fire safety standard EN4554.
The new industry standard EN 45545-2, set to be used from mid-2016, heralds the introduction of harmonised fire safety requirements on rolling stock across the European Union. This is a vital legislation which manufacturers must adhere to.
The enormous impact of the Fire Safety Standard is further highlighted by the fact that almost everything on a train weighing more than 100 grams has to undergo this new stringent fire safety testing. TENMAT material is already approved to this standard and is already being used in new train builds including the largest rail project in Europe, Crossrail UK.
TENMAT materials find their use in gangway plates, king pin bushes, centre wear plates, anti-roll bar bushes, brake bushes, air spring plates and many other safety critical wear applications in passenger rail.
