Indian Coast Guard / Indian Navy continue to trust TENMAT RAILKO marine bearings for their fleet

The Indian Coastguard has commissioned the 4th of the Samarth-class OPV. ICGS Shaunak, the 105-meter vessel was commissioned at Goa Shipyards, which is in charge of designing and building the six vessels. All six vessels of the class have been designed incorporating FEROFORM T12 for their Rudder and Stern Tube bearings. ICGS Shaunak will be based at Visakhapatnam under the command of Deputy Inspector General T Sashi Kumar.

Also commissioned last month in Port Blair, is the Indian Navy’s third Landing Craft Utility (LCU) Mk-IV. The ship was commissioned as INLCU L53 by Vice Admiral Bimal Verma. INLCU L53 was designed and built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE) in Kolkata and will be used for the transport of combat equipment.

Indian Coast Guard & Indian Navy operate a fleet of more than 200 ships, and another 100+ ships/boats are at different stages of construction at different shipyards. The majority of which are designed or retrofitted with FEROFORM or RAILKO marine bearings due to their outstanding performance in tropical waters and predicted bearing life of more than 15 years.
