Arclex has been developed as a high-quality machinable glass bonded mica. It is resilient against high power electric arcs and is widely used in arc chutes for both static (eg power stations) and transport applications. The material has an extremely high resistance to electric arcs and a very low moisture adsorption, providing excellent electrical properties even in humid atmospheres.
